In this episode of Man v. Food, host Adam Richman visits the capital city of Virginia, Richmond. Known for its Southern cuisine and historical significance, Richmond has a lot to offer in terms of food adventures.

Adam begins his journey at Buz and Ned's Real Barbecue, a local joint serving up some of the best BBQ in the area. Here, he tries the Triple D Challenge, a sandwich stacked high with pulled pork, brisket, and sausage. To complete the challenge, Adam must finish the massive sandwich along with a side of mac and cheese and collard greens in under 45 minutes. Can he handle the heat and become a Triple D champion?

Next, Adam heads to the Capitol Waffle Shop, a breakfast spot that's been around since 1938. Here, he tries the famous chicken and waffles, a Southern classic that's taken over the nation. The dish features perfectly fried chicken atop a fluffy waffle, topped with creamy gravy and hot sauce. Adam can hardly contain his excitement as he digs into this mouth-watering meal.

For his next food adventure, Adam heads to Mama J's Kitchen, a family-owned restaurant serving up traditional soul food. Here, he tries the "Tour of Mama J's," which features 11 different dishes including fried chicken, mac and cheese, and collard greens. Can Adam finish this massive feast and receive the ultimate stamp of approval from Mama J herself?

The episode takes a turn towards the sweet side as Adam visits Bev's Homemade Ice Cream, a local shop that's been serving up homemade ice cream since 1986. Here, Adam tries the ice cream sandwich, which features freshly-baked cookies filled with the creamiest ice cream around. Can he handle the sugar rush after his massive feast at Mama J's?

Adam's last stop is Kuba Kuba, a Cuban restaurant that's been around for over 20 years. Here, he tries the Ropa Vieja, a traditional Cuban dish featuring shredded beef in a tangy tomato sauce served over rice and beans. To finish off his meal, Adam tries the Tres Leches cake, a rich and decadent dessert soaked in three types of milk. Can he handle the bold flavors of this traditional Cuban meal?

Throughout the episode, Adam meets with locals and learns about the history and culture of Richmond. From Civil War battlefields to the famous Monument Avenue, Richmond has a rich history that's reflected in its diverse cuisine. Adam embraces the city's Southern charm and tries everything it has to offer, proving that he truly is a food adventurer at heart.
