Ep 3. Nashville

Adam Richman travels to Nashville for the third episode of season four of Man v. Food. Known for its hot chicken and barbecue, Nashville is a food lover's paradise and Adam is ready to try some of the city's most famous dishes.

Adam begins his day at the Pancake Pantry, a local favorite that has been serving up breakfast since 1961. He tries the signature Sweet Potato Pancakes topped with cinnamon cream syrup and pecans, as well as the Southern-style Fried Chicken and Biscuits. He chats with the owner about the history of the restaurant and what makes their pancakes so special.

Next, Adam heads to Prince's Hot Chicken, where he meets with owner Andre Prince Jeffries to learn about the history of hot chicken in Nashville. He tries a range of heat levels, from mild to XX-Hot, and even takes on the XXX-Hot challenge with a side of fiery pickles. Adam learns what it takes to make the perfect hot chicken, including the technique of marinating the chicken in spices before frying it to crispy perfection.

Adam continues his hot chicken tour at Hattie B's Hot Chicken, a newer establishment that has quickly gained a reputation for serving up some of the city's best hot chicken. He tries the Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Hot Chicken Plate with sides of mac and cheese and collard greens. Adam talks to the chefs about the inspiration behind Hattie B's and what sets their hot chicken apart from the rest.

After a spicy start to the day, Adam heads to Peg Leg Porker for some classic Tennessee barbecue. He tries the Pull Pork Plate and the Barbecue Nachos, which are loaded with pork, cheese, and barbecue sauce. Adam learns about the different cuts of meat used in barbecue and the importance of slow-cooking for hours to achieve the perfect flavor and tenderness.

For dessert, Adam visits Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams to try some of their unique flavors like Sweet Cream Biscuits and Peach Jam and Brown Butter Almond Brittle. Adam chats with Jeni Britton Bauer, the founder of Jeni's, about how she started making ice cream and the creative process behind their flavors.

Adam ends his day at The Pharmacy Burger Parlor and Beer Garden, where he tries their famous Pharmacy Burger with a side of Sweet Potato Fries and a Milkshake. He talks to the owners about what inspired them to open a burger joint and how they source their ingredients.

Throughout the episode, Adam learns about the history and culture behind Nashville's famous food scene and meets some of the passionate chefs and owners who make it all possible. He takes on some of the city's spiciest challenges and indulges in some delicious Southern cuisine.
