In episode 6 of season 9 of Man v. Food, host Casey Webb heads to sunny Palm Springs, California to take on some of the city's most iconic dishes.
The first stop on Casey's food journey is Cheeky's, a bustling breakfast spot voted the "Best Breakfast in Palm Springs." Here, Casey tries their famous bacon flight which includes five different flavor-packed types of bacon. Next up, he takes on one of their enormous breakfast burritos stuffed with chorizo, cheese, eggs, bacon, and potatoes.
After fueling up on a hearty breakfast, Casey heads to The Sandwich Spot for their signature sandwich — the "Triple-D" packed with double pastrami, double corned beef, double Swiss cheese, and topped with a pile of coleslaw and Russian dressing. Casey even tries his hand at making one of their other popular sandwiches — the "Desert Nectar" made with turkey, bacon, avocado, sprouts, and honey mustard.
Casey's next stop is a local institution in Palm Springs — Tyler's Burgers. Here, he attempts to conquer the "Tyler's Ultimate Burger Challenge," which consists of a towering burger stacked with three beef patties, three slices of cheese, bacon, fried onions, lettuce, and tomato all sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches. This massive burger weighs in at an impressive 4.5 pounds.
To cool off after all the hearty eats, Casey heads to Ice Cream & Shop(pe) for their exotic ice cream flavors. Here, Casey tries their goat cheese, apricot, and pistachio ice cream, and the "Palm Springs Date Shake" made with local dates and churned with vanilla ice cream.
Finally, Casey heads to Rooster and the Pig for some Vietnamese fusion cuisine. He tries their famous "Com Tam" dish, which translates to "broken rice" and is a traditional Vietnamese lunch dish. The dish consists of a bed of broken rice topped with grilled pork, an egg, and a variety of flavorful toppings.
Throughout the episode, viewers get to witness Casey's excitement and enthusiasm for trying out new foods and taking on extreme food challenges. From bacon flights to massive burgers, Palm Springs offers a wide array of delicious and adventurous eats, and Casey is up for the challenge.
