Crooked Contest is the thirteenth episode of the eleventh season of the popular reality TV show Mystery Diners. The series follows restaurant owners who suspect that their employees are not behaving properly or stealing from the establishment. They call in a team of undercover mystery diners to identify the problems and provide solutions to remedy the situation.

In this episode, the owners of a popular barbecue restaurant called BBQ Bros, located in Memphis, Tennessee, reached out to the Mystery Diners team for help. They suspected that their employees were stealing from the restaurant and that their annual rib competition might have been rigged.

The owners, Tim and Tom, have been running their restaurant for years and have built up a loyal customer base. They take pride in their annual rib competition, which usually attracts thousands of people from the area. The competition was crucial for promoting their brand and attracting new customers. However, in recent years, Tom and Tim suspected that their main competitor, Smokehouse, had been cheating by paying people to vote for their ribs.

The Mystery Diners team decided to investigate the matter by sending in undercover operatives as judges for the competition. They also installed hidden cameras throughout the restaurant to monitor the employees' behavior. As expected, they found that Tom and Tim's suspicion was correct. Smokehouse was paying off people to vote for their ribs and promoting their brand through the competition.

However, it wasn't just Smokehouse that the Mystery Diners had to deal with. They found that one of the BBQ Bros's employees, named Ricky, was also stealing meat from the restaurant and selling it to a competitor. Ricky had devised a scheme to take meat from the restaurant's stock and sell it to a local restaurant called Bellybuster. He would then use the money to pay for his rent and other bills.

The Mystery Diners team confronted Ricky and told him that he was caught red-handed. The owners of BBQ Bros were furious and felt betrayed by their employee. The team also sat down the owners of Smokehouse and told them that they had evidence that they were cheating in the rib competition. Smokehouse tried to deny the allegations, but when confronted with the evidence, they apologized and promised to never cheat again.

In the end, the Mystery Diners team provided solutions to both problems. They recommended that BBQ Bros conduct their annual rib competition in a different location and that they should monitor their employees more closely. They also suggested that Smokehouse be barred from participating in future competitions. As for Ricky, the team told the owners of the restaurant to either fire him or take legal action against him.

This episode of Mystery Diners is an eye-opener for restaurant owners who suspect that their employees are not following the rules. It shows how important it is to monitor your employees' behavior and how cheating can have serious consequences not just for you, but for your competitors as well.
