After a successful debut episode, Necessary Roughness returns with episode 2 titled Anchor Management. In this episode, we see our main protagonist, Dr. Dani Santino, played by Callie Thorne, continue to brand herself as a successful psychotherapist for athletes, thanks to her unconventional methods.

In the first episode, Dani was able to solve the problems of a star football player, TK, played by Mehcad Brooks, and he is ready to show off his new and improved self to the world. However, the world has other plans as a news anchor, Perry, played by Chris Butler, is in need of Dani's services.

Perry is going through a tough time as his anchoring gig is in jeopardy due to his anger management issues. The network is ready to replace Perry with someone else. Dani is hesitant at first, but her agent persuades her to take the job as the exposure could be good for business. Plus, Dani's son loves watching Perry on TV, so she agrees to help him out.

In the meantime, Dani's husband, whom she recently separated from, is getting married again. Matt, played by Marc Blucas, is marrying his new girlfriend, Laura, played by Amanda Detmer. This news takes a toll on Dani, as she has mixed feelings about the upcoming wedding.

Moving forward, Dani meets with Perry and quickly identifies that Perry's issues stem from his father's absence during his childhood. Dani sets out to help Perry come to terms with his childhood trauma, in hopes of getting him back on track.

However, Perry is not an easy patient and resistant to Dani's techniques, causing her to come up with new and unconventional ways to solve his problems. She uses physical exercises, such as boxing and target shooting, to help Perry release his anger towards his absent father. The exercises are a success, and Perry begins to feel better, eventually leading him to confront his father.

On Matt's side of things, he and Dani have a heart-to-heart about their future. Matt is ready to move on, but Dani is still unsure of where she stands. She is happy to see that Matt is moving on, but deep down, she is worried about how her kids will handle the situation.

As the episode concludes, Perry's confrontation with his father proves to be successful, and he is offered his old job back. Dani is delighted and excited for Perry, but she is also struggling with the realization that her husband is moving on and that her kids will soon have a new stepmother. The episode ends with Dani looking at old photos of her family, wondering about what the future holds.

Overall, Necessary Roughness season 1 episode 2 titled Anchor Management showcases Dani's unconventional psychotherapy methods in action. The episode explores themes such as anger management, childhood trauma, and the journey of moving on. The show's cast does an excellent job of bringing the characters to life and keeping the audience engaged. With its mixture of sports and drama, Necessary Roughness continues to be a promising addition to the television industry.
