Kyousuke is asked about his relationship with Manami by his friend, Akagi. Akagi is exasperated when Kyousuke answers that, although they don't have a romantic relationship, he doesn't want her to be taken by anyone else. Just then, Kyousuke learns that Manami's family of traditional Japanese sweets-makers will be holding a fair, and he is volunteered to act as taste-tester. He spends a soothing evening at Manami's house, where he feels more comfortable than he does at his own.
