Ep 5. Fifth Deceit

In Shiki season 1 episode 5, "Fifth Deceit," the tension in Sotoba Village continues to escalate as the mysterious deaths continue. Sunako and Seishirou, two of the shiki, plan to use their powers to win over the village and establish their authority as the new rulers. As the night falls, Sunako and Seishirou put their plan into motion. They visit the homes of the village leaders and offer them a deal: they will protect the village from outsiders and keep it prosperous, in exchange for their cooperation and obedience. The leaders are initially resistant, but Sunako and Seishirou use their hypnotic powers to win them over.

Natsuno, still suspicious of the shiki's motives, follows Megumi to the forest where she and the other shiki have established their lair. He witnesses them attacking and killing a group of outsiders who had come to investigate the village. Horrified, Natsuno realizes that the shiki have no intention of sharing the village with anyone else and that they must be stopped.

As the episode draws to a close, Toshio, Seishin, and a group of villagers plan to launch a surprise attack on the shiki's lair. Sunako and Seishirou, aware of the impending attack, prepare to defend themselves and their kind.

Overall, "Fifth Deceit" is a tense and suspenseful episode that sets the stage for the clashes to come between the shiki and the remaining human inhabitants of Sotoba Village.
