Extra Value Friday: Haunted Halloween is the 35th episode of the third season of the daytime cooking show, The Chew. As the Halloween season approaches, the hosts Michael Symon, Mario Batali, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly, and Daphne Oz aim to make this year's celebration spooky, fun, and delicious. They are joined by special guests Tony Goldwyn and Katie Lee.

The show kicks off with Michael Symon, who is also a restaurateur, sharing some tips on how to decorate a Halloween table. He suggests using pumpkins, spiderwebs, and spooky candles to set the mood. The hosts then move on to the main event of the show, which is cooking up some Halloween-inspired dishes. Mario Batali suggests making a Halloween Tortellini dish, stuffed with butternut squash and sage, while Carla Hall whips up some Pumpkin Cornbread. Daphne Oz shares her recipe for a healthy Halloween-themed fruit salad, complete with spooky spiderwebs made out of yogurt.

In addition to cooking, the hosts also share some Halloween-themed DIY decoration ideas. Clinton Kelly shows how to make some grotesque, yet delicious-looking Halloween cupcakes, topped with chocolate-molded severed fingers and eyeballs. The hosts also demonstrate how to carve pumpkins and create a spooky table centerpiece from carved out pumpkins.

Next up, the hosts welcome Tony Goldwyn, who plays President Fitzgerald Grant III on the popular TV show Scandal, and is also a foodie. Clinton Kelly and Tony Goldwyn team up to prepare a delicious Halloween mocktail, using fresh pomegranate juice and ginger beer. Meanwhile, Daphne Oz and Michael Symon pair up to grill some Halloween-inspired bratwurst, topped with sauerkraut and spicy mustard.

Finally, Katie Lee, a cookbook author and co-host of the Food Network's The Kitchen, joins in on the fun. She demonstrates how to make a Halloween-inspired cocktail, called The Black Widow, which is made with black vodka, blackberries, and lime juice. The hosts also play a game of Halloween-themed trivia, with questions about monster movies, creepy creatures, and haunted places.

Overall, Extra Value Friday: Haunted Halloween is a fun and entertaining episode of The Chew. The hosts' enthusiasm for Halloween is infectious, and their creativity in the kitchen and with DIY decorations is inspiring. The addition of special guests Tony Goldwyn and Katie Lee adds to the excitement and shows that Halloween can be enjoyed by foodies and cocktail enthusiasts alike.
