Ep 1. Wagons Ho!

The Great Food Truck Race is back for its ninth season! This year, the competition takes six teams of food truck novices on a culinary road trip from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Park City, Utah. Along the way, they’ll face challenges that test their cooking abilities as well as their business skills.

In episode one, titled "Wagons Ho!", the race begins in Santa Fe with an Old West-inspired challenge. The six teams are introduced and given their first task: create a dish that represents the spirit of the Old West, using traditional ingredients like beef, pork, beans, and chilies. They have just one hour to shop for their ingredients and prepare their dishes before presenting them to a panel of judges.

After the challenge, the teams hit the road in their customized food trucks to begin their journey north. Along the way, they’ll face roadblocks and detours that test their navigational skills and challenge their ability to adapt on the fly. They’ll also compete in challenges designed to test their cooking and business skills, such as creating a high-end dish with limited ingredients or selling their food on a busy ski slope.

As the teams make their way through New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah, tensions rise and alliances are formed and tested. The competition is tough, and every team is fighting to stay in the race and make it to the final destination: Park City, Utah.

Throughout the season, viewers will get to know each of the teams as they battle it out for the grand prize of $50,000 and their own food truck. From military veterans to best friends to father-son duos, the contestants come from all walks of life and bring a wide range of culinary skills and perspectives to the competition.
