Unwrapped Season 17 Episode 3 Old School

Unwrapped is a Food Network show that takes viewers behind the scenes of their favorite snack foods and treats. In season 17 episode 3, titled "Old School," host Marc Summers explores some classic foods that have been popular for generations.
First up, Marc visits a factory that produces Necco Wafers, a candy that has been around for over 170 years. He takes a tour of the facility and learns how the wafers are made, from mixing the ingredients to pressing them into shape. He also gets to try some of the various flavors, including chocolate, cinnamon, and wintergreen.
Next, Marc heads to a bakery that specializes in a classic American treat: the Twinkie. He meets the bakers who make the famous sponge cake and creamy filling, and learns about the history of the snack. He also gets to taste some of the other treats the bakery makes, like cupcakes and Ding Dongs.
Moving on to salty snacks, Marc visits a potato chip factory to see how the popular snack is made. He watches as potatoes are sliced, fried, and seasoned, and gets a chance to see some of the unusual flavors the company has come up with, like cappuccino and bacon cheddar.
After the potato chips, it's time for something sweet again. Marc heads to a cotton candy factory to see how the fluffy treat is made. He watches as a machine spins sugar into wispy threads, and learns about the science behind cotton candy's unique texture. He also gets to try some of the different flavors, including grape and blueberry.
Finally, Marc visits a classic soda fountain to learn about another old-fashioned treat: the ice cream soda. He talks to the owners about how they make their own syrups and sodas, and watches as they put together a traditional ice cream soda with vanilla ice cream and homemade chocolate syrup.
Throughout the episode, Marc shares interesting facts about the history and production of each item, as well as some of his own memories and experiences with them. The "Old School" episode of Unwrapped is a fun and nostalgic look at some of the classic snacks that have been delighting Americans for generations.
