She starts by dressing up in more stylish clothing and putting on makeup, but quickly learns that appearance alone is not enough to win over her classmates.
As the episode progresses, Tomoko begins to mimic the behavior of more popular students in her school in an attempt to fit in. She tries to be bubbly and cheerful like one of her classmates, but ends up coming across as fake and insincere.
