Wilderness Vet season 2 episode 5 is an exciting journey into the lives of tiny family members. Dr. Oakley, the main protagonist, is an experienced veterinarian who runs a solo practice in the wilderness of Alaska. This show covers her daily routine of treating animals both big and small, in the wildness of Alaska.

This episode delves into the world of small animals such as birds, rabbits, and mice. Dr. Oakley starts her day with a visit to a local school where she talks to a group of kids about the care and handling of pets. She is accompanied by a small bunny who is a perfect example of how to take care of a pet at home.

After the school visit is over, Dr. Oakley receives a call from a family that has a pet bird. The bird is experiencing some severe respiratory problems, which have become a cause of concern for the family. Dr. Oakley heads over to their house to examine the bird.

With her years of experience and knowledge, Dr. Oakley quickly identifies the problem. She provides the family with the necessary medication and advises them on how to take care of their pet bird. The family is happy to have their pet back in good health.

The next patient on Dr. Oakley's list is a wild mouse that has been injured. The mouse was saved by a young boy who noticed it lying on the ground, unable to move. The family decided to bring the mouse to Dr. Oakley to see if she could help.

Dr. Oakley examines the mouse, who has suffered a neck injury. With the help of her assistant, she creates a small brace for the mouse's neck using popsicle sticks and tape. The little mouse is back on its feet and ready to be released back into the wild.

The episode then takes a turn to an unusual but adorable animal. Dr. Oakley is called to examine a family of pygmy goats. The new-born goats are not doing well and are displaying signs of weakness. Dr. Oakley examines each of the goats and finds that they are malnourished.

She provides the family with the right diet for the goats, and after a few days, the goats are back in active shape, running around and playing. The family is overjoyed to see their small goats back in proper health.

The final call of the day takes Dr. Oakley to a tiny patient in need. A family has found an injured hedgehog on their property. Dr. Oakley quickly assesses the hedgehog and finds that it has a severe cut under its belly. She carefully cleans the cut and stitches it up. Dr. Oakley advises the family on proper care for the hedgehog, and they named the hedgehog after her.

Overall, this episode showcases that Dr. Oakley's compassion and expertise extend not only to large animals but also to the smallest of creatures. Every animal, no matter how big or small, is important to Dr. Oakley, and she works around the clock to ensure their well-being.
