Ep 1. The Naked Truth

Joe and Helen call it quits as they couldn't find a solution to their differences. Joe is now staying at Roy's place, and their discussion turns to discussing Helen's usual outburst, and how Joe had no idea she was that short-tempered.

Meanwhile, over breakfast, Fay fears that Helen will fire her when she finds out she messed up when she put a personal ad in the newspaper on Helen's behalf, and meeting after meeting, various friends try to pitch in for Helen's choice of love interests. This spurs Joe's interest and when he reads the personal ad in the paper, he decides to apply for the job.

Elsewhere, a woman comes into the lunch counter thinking it's a health food store. She gives a brochure to Brian and Casey, who are amused as they recognize the woman as a student from one of Brian's art classes. As she leaves, Casey is fixated on the woman's aura, which she describes as intense and naked. After realizing the woman is an adherent to a nudist colony, they follow her, peering into the locked gates. At that point, the woman spots them, and to Casey's horror, invites them to come in.

The brothers are offered a meal and an invite to a nudist volleyball game, which they politely decline. Casey and Brian accuse one another of having the apparent locker-room mentality, while back in the lounge of the airplane terminal, when Joe asks for the time it turns into another joke, pun and confusion bar between Lowell, Roy, and Joe.

Fay becomes paranoid and is afraid of being fired for setting up Helen's ad in the personal section of the newspaper. Principal Finkenheim visits Brian at the airport, incredibly amused by his studies of the human form, fascinated by his life drawing classes.

Joe meets Helen at the restaurant where he invited her for dinner, but they continue to argue about their former relationship. After dinner, Helen and Joe visit the nudists at the colony for the volleyball game. Let’s just say Helen proves to be a natural at the game, and the sisters, Casey and Helen take Joe out for dinner and drinks.

The Naked Truth is a hilarious episode from Wings season 3 that tackles two different relationships. The first is Helen and Joe's break-up and the second is Brian and Casey's involvements with nudists. The episode is known for Helen's competitive side when she shows her talent at volleyball while wearing nothing but her birthday suit. The episode shows the excellent comic timing of the ensemble cast, making The Naked Truth another classic Wings episode.
