6teen was an animated Canadian television situation comedy series. It was broadcast for four years. Toon Boom Animation Company in Montreal created 6teen. The series was picked up by various channels in the United States, from time to time.

The plot revolved around 6 sixteen year olds, and their life experiences. These teenagers spend their time mostly at a shopping mall. They are Wyatt Williams, Caitlin Cooke, Jonesy Garcia, Nikki Wong, Jen Masterson and Jude Lizowski. Each teenager has their own distinct personality, which many times is made fun of by their friends. In the first episode all 6 teenagers are out looking for part time jobs at 6 different stores in the mall. You see parts of their individual interviews, and the very different ways they respond to questions from the different companies.

They always group together in the mall. They have discussions centering around their attitudes about parents, life, love, jobs, and having fun. One of the teens loves riding his skateboard all around the mall. The dialog is rapid fire and contemporary. The production and writing of the characters is modern day. The dialog that is written for the teenagers is up to date for the 21st century. It is written for children, pre-teens and teenagers.

Because of a new technique for digital computer animation called Harmony, which Toon Boom Animation designed, the entire animated series was created on computer, without the use of hand drawn designs. No paper was needed. Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch were the series creators and directors. The original title for the series was "The Mall".
