Watch Family Album

Family Album aired on FOX in 1994 and centered around the lives of the Harrison family. The show starred Jaclyn Smith as Elaine Harrison, the matriarch of the family, and Michael Ontkean as her husband, John Harrison. The couple has four children: David (Joe Flanigan), the eldest and the only son, Amy (Kristin Minter), the second eldest and a talented musician, Melissa (Dru Mouser), the third eldest and the only daughter, and Paul (Brian Krause), the youngest and the troublemaker of the family.

The show depicted the daily struggles of the family as they dealt with various issues, including infidelity, substance abuse, and illness. The Harrison family was an affluent family, living in a beautiful home in the suburbs, driving nice cars, and attending fancy schools. However, they were not without their problems. John has an affair with his secretary, while Elaine struggles to balance her career with her family responsibilities. David is a successful lawyer but is unhappy with his career and is dealing with his own marital problems. Amy, the musical prodigy, is struggling with her sexuality and trying to come out to her family, while Melissa is dealing with an eating disorder. Paul faces his own set of problems, including a drug addiction.

Despite the darkness that the show sometimes delved into, Family Album also had moments of warmth and humor. The family's love for each other and their unwavering support for one another served as a backbone to the show.

The rest of the cast included Joel Gretsch as Elaine's brother, Stephen Bridgewater as John's business partner, David S. Cass, Sr. as David's law partner, and Mary Carver and Tom Mason as John and Elaine's respective parents. Brett Cullen and John Waters appeared in later episodes as Elaine's former flame and a famous photographer, respectively, while Kristen Dalton and Brian Donovan played Melissa's friends.

Family Album was ultimately cancelled after only six episodes, leaving many unresolved storylines for its characters. Despite its short run, the show is remembered fondly by those who did watch it. Its combination of drama and humor, along with its talented cast, made it a promising addition to FOX's lineup that never quite had the chance to reach its full potential.
