Ginga Nagareboshi Gin is an anime television series that aired in Japan on TV Asahi from 1986 to 1987. It is a story about a young dog named Gin, who embarks on a quest to become the leader of the heroic dog pack that defends the Ohu Mountains from evil enemies. The show follows the adventures of Gin, a silver-furred Akita pup, who is born into the wild and abandoned by his mother. He is rescued by a friendly dog named Daisuke, who becomes his new owner and trains him to fight against the vicious bear, Akakabuto.

After meeting several other dogs who have also been affected by Akakabuto's reign of terror, Gin learns about the legendary leader of the Ohu Mountains' dog pack, Riki. He decides to follow in Riki's footsteps and become the hero that the others can look up to and rally around.

20. Angry Silver! Now Show Your Courage!

September 8, 1986

The dogs take a well earned rest and mourn the loss of the loyal soldier Benizakura, their rest is stopped by the sound of fighting, they follow the sounds and come across two bears figthting, one of them is killed and is eaten by the other bear, Ben warns them all not to attack and the bear runs away, Wilson recognised the bear and told them the story of the cannibal bear known only as 'Harpoon Bear'. They follow the bear to Akakabuto's fortress, and Akakabuto emerges from the top, amazing all of the dogs with his huge size, the dogs lure the Harpoon bear down the fortress and they all kill him, leaving only Akakabuto in their way of reclaiming Futago pass.

19. Pitterful! The Last Moment Of Crimson Cherryblossom!

August 18, 1986

Gin wonders how to kill Madara, when Kirikaze, who is close to death, reminds Gin of the scythes used by the Kogas, Gin successfully kills Madara. The pack are ambushed by 3 more bears, one of them is the strong Lieutenant, Mosa. Gin and Ben manage to tie up the bear with some rope and push him into the river, Benizakura swims to the bottom and ties the rope to a tree trunk, unfortunatly Benizakura's leg gets caught and he dies a hero's death.

18. Fight! The Strongest One Throws Away Their Life!

August 4, 1986

The pack split up into four groups and each attack one of Akakabuto's bear strongholds each, Hyena realises he is a coward and is not prepared to die for the cause and hides in the bushes, Ben's eyesight finaly deminishes and he is left totally blind, the traitor Sniper attacks Ben and they both fall into a revine, Hyena jumps in after them to try and save Ben. The pack successfully kill 6 of Akakabuto's bears with only his Lieutenant Madara remains.

17. Now, We Realise! The Origin Of The Leader!

July 28, 1986

The two packs meet, and have a total of over 1600 dogs for the final battle against Akakabuto. Cross gived birth to Ben's puppies and the leader Riki gives the dogs a speech that brings them to tears.

16. The Tears Arrive! A Close Companion Meets Their Death!

July 21, 1986

The group splits in to two groups of 200 and go their seperate ways to hunt for more recruits. A battle with some of Akakabuto's soldiers leads Moss and his group to find some new recruits, 4 German Shepards called Kisaragi, Uzuki, Hazuki and Minazuki. Meanwhile, Ben is still at the vet getting his vision checked and a small Dachshund friend helps Cross to give birth.

15. Crimson Cherryblossom! The Strongest One Of All!

July 14, 1986

When they arrive in Uwajima, Musashi tells the story of Benizakura, the strongest dog he has ever known, they travel to town and hear cheering, Benizakura is fighting a bull. Meanwhile ben goes to an old friend to get medical help about his eye sight, which is rapidly deteriorating, also Gin arrives in Uwajima, disobeying Ben's orders, but Gin wants Benizakura ro join their army, the only way to settle this and for him to join is for Gin to fight Benizakura, if Gin wins, he will join.

14. Advancing! The Small One Is The Young Leader!

July 7, 1986

The group swim to an island called Shikoku, which is notorious for it's dog fights, their goal is to get a world championship fighting dog named Musashi to join their army. Ben's eye sight is becoming worse, and the group meet a dog named Bill who saved Gin's life after Sniper attacks.

13. Justice! The Orders Of The Leader!

June 30, 1986

Ben is in need of the herbs to cure the poison, he hallucinates and attacks Akatora, but is forgiven after he recieves the healing herbs. Kurojaki and his remaining Koga dog's attack the group until a border collie named Wilson is seen on the cliff tops holding Kurojaki's puppy in his mouth and orders them to leave or he will kill his son.

12. It's Dangerous Ben! The Confrontation Of The Ninja Grounds!

June 23, 1986

The group enter a large forest and come across 3 dogs eating the corpse of a white dog, when confronted they say that their leader Kurojaki lets them eat dogs. Whilst under attack from Kurojaki's Koga ninja dogs, Ben and Akame are lured into poisonous thorns and his sons must find them the antidote before it is too late.

11. Patience Dog! The Dark Shadow Of The Iga Village!

June 16, 1986

Gin and Smith arrive to stop the fight before everyone gets killed, Cross starts to cry as he thinks Ben has been killed by the collapsing rocks, Ben emmerges from the rocks, only to be injured, Moss attacks, but Ben wins, so Moss's arm unite with Ben and Gin. They enter a ninja village called Iga, and are poisoned in a trap by some mysterious shadow dogs.

10. Monster! Moss's Soldiers On The Rock Peak!

June 9, 1986

Be and the gang rest in a cave, whilst the traitor Hyena sneaks off and tell's Moss of their where abouts, when searching for the missing Hyena, they realise they have been set up and fight breaks out between Ben and Moss's armies.

9. Demon Dog! The Three Kai Brothers!

June 2, 1986

Gin, Ben and Cross watch the legendary Kai brother's attacking a stampede of bulls, Ben would like them to join their group, and offers them a 3 on 3 fight, if they win, the Kai brothers will join their army.

8. Now! Go On The Journey Of An Adult!

May 26, 1986

Gin and the others are introduced to Commander Sniper, who tries to attack and kill Gin, until the leader Riki returns. The army is becoming bigger and stronger, and they discuss the ways in which they can kill Akakabuto.

7. Scarred In Your Heart Forever! The Oath Of The Group!

May 19, 1986

Madara, Akakabuto's lieutenant attacks Gin, John and Daisuke in the woods. We see the introduction of a new platoon of dogs, including Ben, Cross, Great and Smith.

6. Howl! The Mountain Calls!

May 12, 1986

Hidetoschi goes to collect the corpse of the dead bear, only to find bones, he spots a large group of mysterious dogs watching him from the cliff top, meanwhile Daisuke swaps his scooter for a new bow. Gin and Daisuke are heading home, and see a large group of dogs attack and kill a bear, Gin, intrigued by their skills, goes towards the group to meet their leader.

5. Victory! Although The Scars Come!

May 5, 1986

Gin and Daisuke attack the bear, while Daisuke is still scared and hiding behind the tree, he finaly plucks up the courage and fires an arrow into the bears eye, a lightning bolt fells a tree between Gin, Daisuke and the bear, he fires an arrow into the bears throat and another into it's nose, and the bear drops dead.

4. The Challenge Of Akakabuto's Bear Family!

April 28, 1986

Gohei is training Gin when he suddenly collapses, Gin runs for help, and Daisuke offers to train Gin in his place while Gohei is in hospital. Hidetoschi gives Daisuke a powerful bow so he can join in the hunt for Akakabuto, they train for solid month until Daisuke masters the power of the bow.

3. Now We Know Silver's Friendship Is For Life!

April 21, 1986

Daisuke is sitting to dinner with his family, when a bloody, inhured man enters their home and says he was attacked by a bear. Daisuke sends for the hunter Gohei. Gohei, Daisuke, Gin and John head to the forest to hunt the bear, they assume it is the demon bear Akakabuto, but it is a different bear as it still has it's right eye.

2. Gin's Effort For The Other Side...There Is A Tomorrow!

April 14, 1986

Gohei is the new owner of Gin, this makes Daisuke mad, as Gin is his favourite of the Akita puppy's. Gohei see's talent in Gin and trains him to be a fighter and hunter, he tries to get Gin to eat bear meat but the puppy refuses. Gohei thinks it is good that Gin is cautious and tells him the tale of a dog named Rikyou who died because he was too sure of himself.

1. The Small Hero... Silver's Birth!

April 7, 1986

Shiro and his master Gohei are hunting the demon bear Akakabuto, the fight heads towards a cliff and Shiro and Akakabuto fall into the canyon. Five years later Gohei is out hunting with Shiro's son Riki, in the meantime Riki's partner Fuji has given birth to a puppy she names Gin.
