Ep 2. The Butterfly Effect

In Heroes season 3 episode 2 titled "The Butterfly Effect," the episode takes off from where the previous one left off. Sylar, who has gained a new power, is on a rampage and is demolishing every obstacle that comes in his way. He tests his new-found power by trying to freeze himself, and when he does, he quickly realizes he can't control it. Meanwhile, Peter flies to Montreal to track down a former Company employee named Victoria Pratt, only to find that she is already dead.

Back in New York, Hiro has inexplicably teleported himself and Ando to India in the seventeenth century. They meet Mohinder Suresh's father, Chandra Suresh, and learn about the butterfly effect- how small changes can make significant differences in history. Chandra tells them about a group of people gifted with powers and how they can save the world from destruction.

In California, Claire meets her new roommate, who is also her new gymnastics teammate. After a few unsuccessful attempts, her roommate convinces her to reveal her powers, which leads to a close encounter with a creepy man. Claire also discovers she can't be harmed or injured in any way.

Matt is back in Texas and is reunited with his wife Janice, who informs him that her new husband, Daphne, has disappeared, and so has their infant child. They soon discover that Daphne has been black-bagged by the government because of her powers, and Matt sets out to find her.

At the same time, Tracy Strauss, Nathan's estranged wife, is in Washington attempting to negotiate with the government regarding her sister Niki's rehabilitation program. However, all turns awry when she discovers that the corporation that controls the program is also working on a new serum that can allow people to gain superhuman powers. Although her intentions were good, it becomes clear that her motives are not entirely selfless.

It's a race against time for all the heroes as they come to realize that their destinies are intertwined and their actions, no matter how small, can have significant consequences. The episode ends with a dramatic bang as Sylar continues on his path of destruction, leaving a trail of devastation and chaos in his wake. Overall, "The Butterfly Effect" sets up the season for what is sure to be a gripping and thrilling ride.
