The show is set in Chicago, IL and follows a group of successful friends as the enjoy their summer in Chicago, which is known for its brutal winters and somewhat short summers. There is the veterinarian, two business men, the jewelry maker, the clothes designer for dogs, the ex-football player, and his girlfriend. There is a lot of drama between the friends. One of the reality show's main appeal is showcasing Chicago. Viewers will get to see a lazy afternoon on a boat on Lake Michigan, night club fun-filled nights, trolley rides, and other beautiful shots of Chicago. The love lives of the cast are shown on the show, as well as any disagreements they have with each other. There are some funny moments, and for the most part, 100 Days of Summer is a light and breezy show, that has the ambiance of summers in Chicago going for it.
