He also tries the Wiener Schnitzel, a breaded and fried veal cutlet that originated in Vienna, and the famous Viennese coffee culture.

From Vienna, Andrew heads to Budapest, Hungary, where he discovers the rich culinary traditions of Eastern Europe. He tries local specialties like goulash, a stew made with beef, paprika, and vegetables, and chimney cake, a sweet pastry cooked over an open flame and coated with cinnamon and sugar. He also visits a traditional market and samples an array of meats, cheeses, and pickled vegetables.

Next, Andrew travels to Copenhagen, Denmark, where he discovers the unique flavors of Scandinavian cuisine. He tries smørrebrød, an open-faced sandwich served on rye bread with various toppings like smoked salmon, herring, and roast beef. He also visits the famous Noma restaurant to try some of their innovative Nordic dishes, such as sea buckthorn and quail egg and beet and verbena.

Finally, Andrew heads to Edinburgh, Scotland, to sample some of the hearty dishes that have sustained the Scottish people for centuries. He tries haggis, a savory pudding made with sheep's heart, liver, and lungs, and served with neeps and tatties (turnips and potatoes). He also tries black pudding, a type of sausage made with pig's blood, and visits a whisky distillery to learn about Scotland's famous spirit.

Throughout the episode, Andrew meets with local chefs, farmers, and food producers to learn about the history and cultural significance of the dishes he tries. He also explores the cities' unique culinary traditions and discovers the influence of different cultures and cuisines on the food of each region.

Continental Classics is a fascinating exploration of some of Europe's most iconic and beloved dishes, and a celebration of the rich and diverse culinary traditions of the continent.
