In the second episode of season 1 of Deca-Dence, titled "Sprocket," we find our protagonist Natsume recovering from a dramatic escape from the Gadoll factory in episode one. Her injuries are serious and she is taken to the infirmary for medical treatment. During her stay, she meets Sprocket, an old man who is known for his tinkering and invention skills. Sprocket takes a liking to Natsume and decides to help her by building her a new arm to replace the one she lost in the Gadoll factory.
Meanwhile, Kaburagi, a veteran warrior and former top player in the Deca-Dence game, is summoned to meet with the system's owner, Donatello. Kaburagi is accused of breaking the rules and is given a warning, but Donatello gives him an opportunity to redeem himself by taking on a special mission. He is tasked with going to the surface and eliminating a specific Gadoll leader.
As Kaburagi sets off on his mission, Natsume is fitted with her new arm by Sprocket and she begins to train with it. She is eager to learn how to use it effectively so that she can continue fighting against the Gadoll. However, her training is cut short when they discover that a Gadoll is approaching the Deca-Dence system and they must prepare to defend it.
As the Gadoll attacks, Natsume and a group of warriors, including Kaburagi, fight together to defend the system. During the battle, Natsume is forced to confront her own limitations and the fact that she is still recovering from her injuries. Kaburagi also faces a challenge as he realizes that the Gadoll leader he was sent to eliminate is not what he expected.
In the end, the battle is won and Natsume and Kaburagi both learn valuable lessons. Natsume understands that she needs to be patient with her recovery and that she still has a lot to learn about being a warrior. Kaburagi realizes that the world he thought he knew so well is not as straightforward as he believed.
Overall, the second episode of Deca-Dence continues to build on the themes introduced in episode one, including the divide between the warrior and human classes and the struggle to survive in a world dominated by the Gadoll. Natsume and Kaburagi both face challenges that force them to reevaluate their place in this world and to question their assumptions about it. The episode also introduces new characters and further develops the relationships between the existing ones.
