Dex Hamilton: Alien Entomologist season 1 episode 9 is titled "Danger High Voltage!" The episode begins with the crew of the ship encountering a problem with their engine. They land on a nearby planet to see if they can find a replacement part for the engine. However, they soon realize that the planet they have landed on is covered in electrified plants.
While exploring the new planet, the crew encounters a group of aliens who are in search of a rare, valuable mineral. The aliens warn the crew about the electrified plants and the danger they pose. Dex and his team are undeterred and they continue on their journey to find the replacement engine part.
As they explore the planet further, they come across a huge plant that is giving off a powerful electric charge. Dex realizes that the plant is the source of power for the entire planet and it is also in danger of being destroyed. Dex decides to try and save the plant even if it means putting himself in danger.
Meanwhile, the alien group that the crew met earlier are on the hunt for the valuable mineral. They come across the same plant that Dex is trying to save and realize that it is the source of the mineral they are searching for. They begin to harvest the plant for the mineral and in doing so, they cause the plant to become even more unstable.
Dex realizes that the plant is in danger of exploding and he tries to get the people off the planet before it's too late. However, his team is trapped on the planet and he is left to find a way to save them. He comes up with a plan to use the mineral that the aliens were harvesting to absorb the electric charge from the plants and prevent them from exploding.
In the end, Dex successfully saves his team and the planet from destruction. The alien group realizes that they were wrong to try and harvest the plant and they apologize to Dex and his team. The episode ends with the crew of the ship flying away from the planet, with Dex feeling proud of his success in saving the planet and its valuable plant.
