Guy Fieri is back on the road, searching for the best homemade and homegrown eats across the country. In the 12th episode of season 2010 of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, he's hitting up small towns and big cities in search of the tastiest home-cooked dishes. From homemade sausages to farm-to-table ingredients, Guy is on a mission to showcase the best of American cuisine.

First up, Guy heads to Lancaster, California to check out The Lemon Leaf Cafe. This family-run restaurant is known for its fresh, local ingredients and creative takes on classic dishes. Guy samples their signature dish, the strawberry salad, which features handpicked strawberries from a nearby farm. He also tries their award-winning deep-fried artichokes and a mouthwatering lamb burger made with locally sourced lamb.

Next, Guy heads to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to check out the Big Jim's Restaurant and Bar. This diner-style joint is known for its massive portions and comfort food classics. Guy gets a taste of their homemade pierogis, stuffed with mashed potatoes and tangy sauerkraut. He also tries the "monster burger", a massive sandwich piled high with toppings like bacon, fried eggs, and cheese.

In Cleveland, Ohio, Guy samples some of the best street food in the city at the Seti's Polish Boys food truck. This family-owned business serves up traditional Polish sausage sandwiches with a twist. Guy tries the classic Polish boy sandwich, which features a grilled kielbasa sausage topped with fries, coleslaw, and a spicy barbecue sauce. He also tries the "moody blue" sandwich, a unique take on the classic grilled cheese featuring blue cheese and mushrooms.

In Bend, Oregon, Guy visits the Jackson's Corner market and cafe, known for their farm-to-table ingredients and rustic charm. Guy samples their homemade sausage sandwich, made with locally sourced pork and classic Italian seasonings. He also tries the "cornucopia" salad, a hearty dish filled with seasonal veggies, roasted chicken, and a tangy vinaigrette dressing.

In Miami, Florida, Guy visits the El Palacio de los Jugos, a bustling outdoor market known for its fresh juices and homemade Cuban food. Guy tries the "completa" sandwich, a massive sandwich filled with ham, cheese, pork, and fried eggs. He also samples their famous sugar cane juice, made fresh to order with sugarcane imported from the Dominican Republic.

Finally, Guy visits the Porky's BBQ food truck in Portland, Oregon, known for their slow-cooked barbeque and tasty sides. Guy tries their signature smoked brisket sandwich, topped with a tangy barbecue sauce and homemade coleslaw. He also samples their smoked mac and cheese, made with four kinds of cheese and plenty of hickory-smoked flavor.

Throughout his journey, Guy is blown away by the homemade and homegrown dishes he encounters. Whether it's a family-run diner or a bustling food truck, these small businesses prove that nothing beats the taste of homemade food.
