Host Guy Fieri is back on the road in season 2014 of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, visiting some of the best mom-and-pop restaurants across the United States. In episode 5, titled Dynamite Duos, Guy focuses on duos who have come together to create some of the most unique and flavorful dishes in the business.

First up is a family-run restaurant in Austin, Texas called "Salty Sow." Here, Guy meets up with Chef Harold Marmulstein and General Manager Brian Stubbs, who share a passion for pork. Guy gets a tour of the restaurant's smokehouse and then watches as Chef Harold prepares their signature dish, a pork belly confit with braised collard greens and sweet potato mash. The dish looks drool-worthy and the judges can't wait to try it.

Next, Guy heads to Cleveland, Ohio to visit two chefs who have teamed up to bring their passion for Asian fusion cuisine to their diner. Thai-born Chef Ratchanee Sumpatboon combines her love of Thai street food with Chef Mike Schoen's talent for classic American fare in their restaurant "Ninja City Kitchen and Bar." Guy watches as the duo prepare their version of pad thai with ramen noodles and a pork belly slider with kimchi. The judges are impressed by the dish and rave about the unique flavor combinations.

In Nashville, Tennessee, Guy visits "Arnold's Country Kitchen," a restaurant that has been run by the same family for over 30 years. Here he meets mother and daughter duo, Rose and Scarlett Arnold, who continue to put their own spin on Southern classics. Guy watches as they prepare their famous meatloaf with a side of mac and cheese, and then sits down with the family to enjoy the meal. The judges are impressed by the classic comfort food and the passion that Rose and Scarlett bring to their dishes.

In Portland, Oregon, Guy visits a husband and wife team who have combined their talents to create "Güero," a restaurant that focuses on regional Mexican cuisine. Chef Alejandro Cruzano and his wife, Kara, run the restaurant together and are known for their flavorful tacos and fresh ceviche. Guy watches as they prepare their signature dish, a whole hog barbacoa, and then sits down with the couple to hear about their love for Mexican culture and cuisine. The judges are blown away by the dish and the care that Alejandro and Kara put into each individual component.

Finally, Guy heads to a small town in North Carolina to visit "Skylight Inn," a restaurant that has been run by the Jones family for over 70 years. Here he meets up with Samuel Jones, who runs the restaurant with his father, and is known for his expertise in cooking whole hogs. Guy watches as Samuel prepares a traditional whole hog barbecue and then sits down with the family to hear about their passion for carrying on their grandfather's legacy. The judges are impressed by the dish and the amount of care and dedication that goes into preparing it.

Overall, "Dynamite Duos" showcases some of the most talented and passionate chefs across the country and their ability to work together to create unique and flavorful dishes. With a focus on family-run restaurants and a love for creating some of the most unforgettable meals, this episode is sure to make your mouth water.
