Kohina is an odd little girl, who has a fascination with dolls and pepper. She introduces Kokkuri-san to her incredibly messy and cluttered living quarters and tells him her daily routine, which consists mostly of reading an instruction manual about being frugal with money.

Kokkuri-san, on the other hand, is keen to know more about Kohina. He starts uncovering her past and uncovers how the little girl used to live by herself and take care of herself. She seems to be a very self-sufficient child, who is used to being alone. Kokkuri-san tries to offer her some guidance on how to live better, despite being a mythical creature with no firsthand experience of human life.

The episode is hilarious and heartwarming, as we see the dynamic between Kokkuri-san and Kohina unfold. Kohina is a straight-faced character, and her deadpan delivery makes the dialogue between her and Kokkuri-san even funnier. The animation style is bright, colorful, and quirky - something that the anime series is known for.

Towards the end of the episode, we meet another mystical creature - Inugami, who is a supernatural dog-type animal. Inugami has been trying to possess Kohina's house for a while now, but he fails every time. Inugami is a laid-back character with a rough exterior, but he becomes interested in Kohina's living quarters after Kokkuri-san mentions that it's a treasure trove of oddities.

Doll Girl Meets Kokkuri-san! is a great introduction to the Gugure! Kokkuri-san anime series.
