Ep 7. Columbus, Ohio

In the tenth season, seventh episode of Man v. Food, host Casey Webb travels to Columbus, Ohio to take on some of the city's biggest and tastiest food challenges. Columbus is known for its diverse food scene, and Casey is ready to dive into all the savory and sweet dishes the city has to offer.

Casey begins his journey at Thurman's Cafe, a burger joint that's been around since 1942. The star of the menu is the Thurmanator, a massive burger that features two 12-ounce beef patties, bacon, cheddar cheese, sautéed mushrooms and onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayo, all stacked between three buns. It's a behemoth of a burger, and Casey will have to conquer it in under 30 minutes to earn a spot on the coveted Wall of Fame.

Next, Casey heads to Hot Chicken Takeover, a Nashville-style hot chicken joint that's taking Columbus by storm. Not only is the chicken spicy, but the sides are just as flavorful. Casey takes on the "Cluck Norris Challenge," which features 5 pieces of hot chicken, 2 sides, a slice of bread, and a drink. Oh, and did we mention there's a time limit? Casey has only 15 minutes to finish everything on the plate.

For his final challenge, Casey heads to Schmidt's Sausage Haus, a popular German restaurant that's been around since 1886. Casey takes on the "Bahama Mama Challenge," which features a foot-long sausage that's loaded up with sauerkraut, onions, and mustard, all stuffed inside a roll the size of a small loaf of bread. It's a challenge that's not for the faint of heart, but Casey is determined to come out victorious.

In addition to these three epic food challenges, the episode also features some of Columbus's other culinary delights. Casey visits Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, a local ice cream shop that's famous for its creative and delicious flavors. He also stops by Fox in the Snow Cafe, a charming little bakery that's known for its pastries and coffee.

Throughout the episode, Casey gets to experience firsthand the warmth and hospitality that Columbus is known for. He meets some of the city's most passionate foodies and chefs and learns about the history and culture behind each dish he tries. Columbus may not be as well-known as some of its neighboring cities like Cleveland and Cincinnati, but as Casey proves, it's a destination that's worthy of any food lover's attention.
