Painter of the Wind" is a South Korean TV series that centers around the quest by a young painter to solve a series of murders that took place 10 years before. It's a historical drama based on a novel of the same name from Korean writer Lee Jung-myung. The show follows characters played by stars Park Shin-yang and Moon Geun-young. Spanning 20 episodes, the story is set in the mid-18th Century. The senior member of the Academy of Painting, or Dohwaseo, is found dead. It turns out he had been secretly named to paint a portrait of the crown prince. A senior member of the academy along with young painter Yun-bok, played by Moon Geun-yong investigates the murder as well as a series of other murders associated with artists and family members. Yun-bok encounters Kim Hong-do, the master painter and senior arts commission member, who disguises her as a boy to continue the investigation. The series features 40 paintings with each painting interwoven into the plot. It won the award as best Asian TV Series at the Shanghai Television Festival and awards at the Houston International Film Festival. Actress Moon Geun-young also won several best TV actress awards for the show.

Description

Painter of the Wind" is a South Korean TV series that centers around the quest by a young painter to solve a series of murders that took place 10 years before.
