First, Marc visits the Chocolate Lab in Brooklyn, New York, where owner and chocolatier Daniel Sklaar demonstrates the art of chocolate-making. Daniel then shows Marc how he incorporates different types of nuts, fruit, and spices into his chocolate bars, creating unique flavor combinations like bourbon pecan and raspberry rose.

Next, Marc visits the headquarters of Nestle, where he meets with the team responsible for creating new candy bars for the company. Marc gets a behind-the-scenes look at the development process, where he sees how different flavor combinations are tested and refined before a final product is produced. Marc tastes some of the newest Nestle bars, including Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups and Crunch Dark Chocolate.

Marc then travels to Hershey, Pennsylvania, where he tours the Hershey's Chocolate World attraction and learns about the history of the Hershey's Chocolate Company. Marc visits the factory where he sees how the famous chocolate bars are made, from the mixing of the ingredients to the molding of the bars. Marc also gets a chance to taste some of the different varieties of Hershey's bars, including the classic milk chocolate and the newer Cookies 'n' Cream.

Back in the studio, Marc is joined by Candy Bar Historian Darlene Lacey, who shares some fascinating facts about the history of candy bars. Darlene tells Marc about the first candy bar, the 1900 creation of the Milky Way bar, and how the popularity of candy bars skyrocketed during World War II. Marc and Darlene also discuss the rise of new, trendy candy bars, like the artisanal bars made with high-quality ingredients and the bars made with unconventional flavors like bacon and potato chips.

Finally, Marc invites a panel of candy critics to taste-test some of the newest candy bars on the market. The critics rate the bars based on flavor, texture, and overall appeal, and provide their opinions on which bars they think will become the next big thing in candy.
