Law and Order Criminal Intent (CI) is a television shows based on fighting crime in New York City. This show details the adventures of the Major Case Squad as they fight some of the most and most violent criminals in the city. Some of the criminal they chase are murderers and handle the high profile cases. High profile cases include investigation that involve government officials, and people that are famous or wealthy. The show follows two teams officers Robert Goren and Alexandra Eames. The show also follows veteran Defectives Mike Logan , Carolyn Barek, Megal Wheeler, and Nola Falacci. During one season Detective Logan retired for the police force. A new detective Zack Nicholas joined the force.

While most dramas focus just on crime busting this show also follows the action of the criminals and the possible reasons as to why they commit their crimes. The show previous events that may have lead to the suspect committing the crime. They also show parts of the victim's life that may have made them a good target for this criminal. Most of the shows end with the criminal confessing to and explaining their crimes rather than having to go to trial or wait on the verdict of a jury.

This show is created by Dick Wolf who has not only created but produced other crime fighting dramas for television. Law and Order wants society to understand the makings of a criminal as well as the inner workings of police. This show help a person understand the mind of a criminal while showing that justice will triumph in every case.
