Much to everyone's astonishment, he and his partner sweep the floor and win the cash prize. Paddington's troubles are over and he is able to grant Mr Brown his most unusual birthday wish.

After a virtuoso performance, first as a violinist, then as a strongman and finally in a Paddington version of the Can-Can, he wakes to the news that all is forgiven. Not only has the can of worms been found intact, but he is presented with a certificate to say he doesn't need to attend school after all - ever again.
