Pinky & the Brain is an American animated television series developed by Warner Bros. Animation. The show premiered on September 9, 1995, and aired until November 14, 1998, for a total of 65 episodes. The show's plot revolves around two genetically-enhanced laboratory mice named Pinky and Brain, who live in a cage in the Acme Labs research facility. Pinky is a dim-witted, but well-meaning mouse, while Brain is a super-genius mouse with a diabolical plan to take over the world.

The series was created by Tom Ruegger, who previously worked on Animaniacs, and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. The show was known for its clever writing, pop culture references, and distinct animation style, which combined cel animation with computer-enhanced graphics.

Pinky & the Brain gained a significant fan following during its run, which led to spin-offs, merchandise, and a cult following that persists to this day.

The show follows the exploits of Pinky and Brain, two mice who have escaped from their laboratory cage and are bent on taking over the world. Each episode involves Brain coming up with a new scheme to dominate the planet, with Pinky typically being the unwitting accomplice to his plans.

The series is notable for its humor, which is often dark and satirical. Much of the show's humor is derived from Brain's absurd schemes and Pinky's nonsensical responses.

The animation style of Pinky & the Brain is unique, blending traditional cel animation with computer graphics. The result is a visually stunning show that is a feast for the eyes.

One of the show's most famous episodes is "What Ever Happened to Baby Brain?", which parodies the film What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?. In the episode, Pinky and Brain dress up as a famous sibling child actor duo from the 1930s, and Brain becomes jealous of his sister's success.

Pinky & the Brain also featured a number of memorable supporting characters, including Brain's arch-nemesis, Snowball the hamster, and his dimwitted lab assistant, Pinky's girlfriend, and Brain's love interest Elmyra Duff.

The voice acting in the show is top-notch, with Maurice LaMarche and Rob Paulsen providing the voices of Brain and Pinky, respectively. Mark Hamill also lent his voice to the show, playing a variety of characters, including Pinky's girlfriend, Elmyra's dad, and a mad scientist.

Other celebrity guest stars included Ben Stein, who played a character named The Brain's Doctor, and Whoopi Goldberg, who played the character of a university professor.

Pinky & the Brain was a critical and commercial success during its run, winning four Daytime Emmy Awards and spawning merchandise and spin-offs. The show was also notable for its catchy theme song, which became a cult favorite in its own right.

In conclusion, Pinky & the Brain is a unique and hilarious animated series that combines clever writing, pop culture references, and stunning animation. The show's two main characters, Pinky and Brain, are a dynamic duo who provide audiences with plenty of laughs while they attempt to take over the world. The supporting cast is equally memorable, and the show's voice talent is unparalleled. Pinky & the Brain has stood the test of time, and remains a beloved classic among fans of animation and comedy alike.
