In Sailor Moon season 1 episode 4, titled "So You Want to be a Superstar," our favorite teenage heroines are faced with a new challenge: a talent search competition called "The Princess Contest." The winner of the contest will be given the opportunity to star in a music video for a popular pop star named Mikan Shiratori.

At first, Usagi (Sailor Moon) is excited about the contest and dreams of becoming a famous idol herself, but after she sees the intense competition and realizes that she doesn't have any real talent, she loses confidence and becomes discouraged. It doesn't help that her friend Naru has entered the contest and seems to be doing well.

Meanwhile, one of the judges for the contest, Tuxedo Mask, has been stealing rare gems from jewelry stores around town. Sailor Moon and the other Sailor Scouts are determined to put a stop to his thievery, but they also have to balance that with their desire to support their friend Naru and help her win the contest.

As the competition heats up, the girls begin to suspect that something fishy is going on behind the scenes. They become convinced that one of the other contestants, a girl named Kyoko, is actually a monster sent by the enemy to disrupt the contest and cause chaos.

As they investigate Kyoko's true identity, the girls also have to deal with their personal struggles and insecurities. Usagi learns an important lesson about believing in herself and using her unique strengths to overcome challenges. Meanwhile, Naru discovers that winning isn't everything and that true friends will always support and stand by you, no matter what.

In the end, the girls are able to stop Tuxedo Mask's criminal activities and expose Kyoko as a monster. Though Naru doesn't win the contest, she is proud of herself for trying and grateful for the support of her friends. And as always, Sailor Moon and the Sailor Scouts continue to fight for justice and protect the world from evil forces.
