The Surreal Life is a reality television show that puts several celebrities into a mansion in the Hollywood hills to live together for two weeks. Some of these participants had been out of the limelight for quite some time, and others hadn't really ever made it big. The show was produced for six seasons. In the first episode of each season, the cast would be introduced to each other without any advance knowledge of who the other cast mates would be. After introductions were out of the way, the housemates would perform tasks, do odd jobs, stage productions and go on excursions together in order to receive rewards.

Season one had a very entertaining cast. Performing for that first season were Motley Crue front man Vince Neil, Playboy playmate Brandi Roderick, Survivor cast-off Jerri Manthey, the star of Beverly Hills 90210 Gabrielle Cateris, rap music superstar MC Hammer, TV star Emmanuel Lewis and former teen movie star Corey Feldman. The group went on a camping trip and took a trip to Las Vegas during their first two excursions. The season culminated in a grand finale where Corey Feldman would serenade his girlfriend with an original song before getting married to her.

Season two also had an interesting cast assembled. They included television preacher Tammy Faye Messner. Messner struck up a rather unlikely friendship with porn star Ron Jeremy. Messner's distaste for some of the tasks led to some rather dramatic moments and emotional break downs.

Alcohol was clearly free and flowing during each of the show's six seasons. The strong presence of libations led to some of the show's more memorable moments. Verne Troyer, who played Mini-Me in the Austin Powers films, famously become intoxicated and urinated in the mansion hallway. Pro wrestler Chyna Doll had an alcohol-fueled argument with her estranged boyfriend. Supermodel Adrienne Curry struck up a May-December romance with the much older Christopher Knight. Knight was best remembered as one of the stars of The Brady Bunch television program.

Some of the other cast members that had memorable runs on the show include Vanilla Ice, Erik Estrada, Alexis Arquette and Florence Henderson.
