Ashley Judd plays a woman who has suffered a massive breakdown and must be institutionalized. She was a professor who had it all, then lost it all. Down on her luck and suffering to find her way back, she meets a friend who changes her life forever. Matilda, played by Lauren Lee Smith, fights with her new friend to forget the past and get on with living. The movie takes its viewers down the journey of mental illness, the stigma attached and the possibility of reclaiming what has been taken. This movie is directed by Sandra Nettelbeck, and the filming took place in Vancouver, Canada.
