A scarred war hero comes to town under the guise of being a naturalist named Andrew, but Michaela soon discovers that this stranger is really David, her former fiancé from Boston, who she thought was killed in the war. As Myra and Horace exchange wedding vows, Michaela struggles with her own decisions about marriage, realizing she must choose between David and Sully, who has proposed to her. Meanwhile, Sully is saddened to learn that his good friend Cloud Dancing is leaving Colorado Springs permanently.
