Rin-ne season 2 episode 24, "Matsugo Again?!", sees Rinne and the gang meet Matsugo, who is a ghost mentioned in the previous episode. Matsugo is a middle-aged man who was a professional baseball player in his youth and was known for his powerful batting. He is now a ghost who has trouble moving on to the afterlife because he can't let go of his past. Matsugo can be seen wandering around Nagasaki Prefecture, the place where he was born and raised, and where he played baseball for the Nagasaki Seagulls.

At the start of the episode, Sakura and Rinne are walking down the street when they stumble upon Matsugo. Matsugo can't stop talking about baseball, especially the time when he hit a home run that landed on the roof of a nearby building. He is ecstatic to hear that Rinne is a shinigami, as he believes that Rinne can somehow help him become a professional baseball player again. Rinne is skeptical at first, but when Matsugo's spirit ball starts to roll away, he realizes that Matsugo is a powerful ghost who needs to be dealt with.

Rinne performs his duties as a shinigami and helps Matsugo move on to the afterlife. However, Matsugo is not willing to move forward just yet. He thinks that if he can hit a home run in his next life, he will be able to let go of his past life. Rinne advises Matsugo to let go of his obsession with baseball and to focus on something else. Despite his advice, Matsugo still can't help but wonder what his next life will be like and what he can do to become a professional baseball player.

Meanwhile, Rokumon is seen talking to the spirit of a stray dog. The dog is clearly distressed, and Rokumon tries to help him out by lending him some money. Just then, Matsugo appears, and the dog's spirit ball starts to roll away. Matsugo offers to help Rokumon chase after the ball, and Rokumon agrees. Little did they know, they were about to embark on a wild adventure that would change everything.

As they chase after the ball, Matsugo starts to remember his past life as a baseball player. He couldn't help but feel nostalgic about his younger days, and he started to regret not pursuing his dreams further. Rokumon tries to snap him out of his thoughts, but it's too late. Matsugo becomes so absorbed in his past that he forgets the present, and he and Rokumon end up getting lost in a forest. They eventually stumble upon an old house, where they meet a mysterious girl who has been living there for years.

The girl explains to Matsugo and Rokumon that she has been living in that house for her entire life. She was left behind by her parents when they moved to another city, and she never had the chance to leave. Matsugo starts to feel sorry for her, and he decides to help her out in any way he can. He asks Rokumon to take care of the girl while he goes off to play baseball. Rokumon is hesitant at first, but he eventually agrees.

Matsugo starts to play baseball in the forest, and Rokumon keeps the girl company in the house. They spend their time talking and singing, and Rokumon starts to feel like he's found a new friend. However, things take an unexpected turn when Matsugo realizes that the forest they're in is actually a sacred place. The people who live there don't like outsiders, and they start to attack Matsugo and Rokumon.

Will Matsugo and Rokumon be able to escape from the forest unscathed? Will they be able to help the girl who has been living in isolation for years? Watch Rin-ne season 2 episode 24, "Matsugo Again?!", to find out.
