Lucy Goes to Las Vegas is the seventeenth episode of the third season of the classic American sitcom, The Lucy Show. The episode originally aired on January 29th, 1962 on CBS and has become a fan favorite over the years.

In this episode, Lucy Carmichael (played by Lucille Ball) is feeling down on her luck and decides to take a trip to Las Vegas to try her hand at gambling. Her friend, Vivian Bagley (played by Vivian Vance), joins her on the trip and is hesitant about Lucy's plan to gamble away their money. Lucy, however, is convinced that she has a system and is destined to win big.

Upon arriving in Las Vegas, Lucy and Vivian check into their hotel and head straight to the casino. Lucy's first attempt at gambling does not go well, as she loses all of their money in a matter of minutes. Vivian tries to convince Lucy to give up on her gambling dreams, but Lucy refuses to give up and convinces Vivian to lend her more money to continue playing.

Throughout the episode, Lucy tries many different games in the casino, including roulette, blackjack, and craps. Each time, her winnings start to add up, but she ultimately ends up losing everything. Vivian attempts to intervene several times, but Lucy brushes her off and insists that she will win it all back.

Meanwhile, back in Danfield (the fictional town where the show takes place), Lucy's children, Chris and Jerry, are worried about their mother's sudden disappearance. They decide to investigate and eventually discover where she has gone. With the help of Mr. Mooney (played by Gale Gordon), they travel to Las Vegas to try and convince Lucy to come home.

When they arrive at the hotel, Chris and Jerry disguise themselves as bellhops in order to sneak into Lucy's room. They try to talk her into coming home, but Lucy is determined to keep playing. Eventually, they are caught and kicked out of the hotel.

The episode concludes with Lucy and Vivian finding themselves once again out of money and unable to pay for their hotel room. In typical Lucy fashion, she comes up with a plan to earn some quick cash by performing a song-and-dance routine in the hotel lobby. With the help of some friendly strangers, Lucy and Vivian put on a show and earn enough money to pay for their hotel room and travel expenses back home.

Overall, Lucy Goes to Las Vegas is a classic episode of The Lucy Show that showcases Lucille Ball's comedic talent and the lovable dynamic between her and Vivian Vance's character. While the episode explores the lighthearted topic of gambling and the excitement of Las Vegas, it ultimately reminds viewers of the importance of family and the dangers of chasing after unrealistic dreams.
