I See You is a psychological thriller movie from 2019 that keeps its viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end. It is directed by Adam Randall and written by Devon Graye. The movie stars Aaron Perilo, Toni Torres, and Brian Kimmet. The story starts in a small town in Ohio where a family of three; Greg Harper (Perilo) the husband, Jackie Harper (Torres) the wife, and their son, Connor Harper (Vice Allen) live. Greg is a detective who is investigating a case of a missing boy named Justin Whitter, a case that has become the talk of the town. It’s not long before he starts to notice strange things happening in his own home. Items move around and disappear, while other things he thought he was alone in are proving him wrong.

As the threads of the mystery start coming together, Greg and his wife Jackie are thrown off balance when strange and eerie events start happening in and around their home. They start finding old toys in their house that they assume their son, Connor, must have brought them in from outside only to find out that they are related to the missing boy case. The situation turns even more sinister when a shattered mirror reveals that they are not alone in their own home. As events unfold, Greg finds himself a suspect in the disappearance of Justin, and his own family is put in danger.

The camera work in the movie is exceptional, with the atmosphere of the story captured perfectly - the character’s emotions perfectly dampen the mood. There are moments in the film that are genuinely eerie and provide a sense of unease. The score helps build the atmosphere by utilizing a mix of eerie ambient sounds, with an occasional sudden jolt of sound to provide a sense of tension.

One of the most remarkable things about I See You is the way it handles its story, which is told in three separate parts. The movie has a distinct way of storytelling that keeps the audience guessing, and reveals its plot twist in a very satisfying and well-executed way. Characters that may appear insignificant in the beginning have a surprising yet apt bearing on the plot towards the end.

As the plot thickens, the movie begins to delve into themes such as betrayal, loss, and revenge. Relationships between characters shift and re-orient startlingly, until the viewer is left in constant anticipation.

The acting in the movie is outstanding; Aaron Perilo delivers a compelling performance as a detective who is not only contending with digging up the truth but also juggling the complexity of his own life. The tension between the husband and wife is palpable, thanks to the performances of Toni Torres, who plays Jackie Harper. The two create a real sense of depth to their relationship.

In conclusion, I See You is a gripping thriller that is sure to make your hair stand on end. The unexpected twists, excellent performances, and eerie atmosphere make for an engaging experience that will stay with viewers even after the credits roll. While it may not be the most original movie in terms of its plot, it certainly distinguishes itself by the way it delivers and handles its story. An excellent example of contemporary thrillers done right.
