Ep 3. Inugami, Stay! Go to Your House!

Gugure! Kokkuri-san is a comedic anime series that follows the story of an independent, young girl Kohina, who has taken up occultism as a hobby and becomes a magnet for supernatural beings. In the third episode of the first season, titled "Inugami, Stay! Go to Your House!," we see Kohina encounter a different kind of spirit - Inugami, a dog-like yokai.

The episode begins with Kohina being startled by a stray dog outside of her house. She tries to shoo it away, but the dog stubbornly stays put and even follows her indoors. Unknowingly, Kohina had drawn a summoning circle with dog food instead of salt, and the Inugami was bound to her. Realizing the situation, Kokkuri decides to stay with Kohina and keep the Inugami in check until they can find a way to break the bond.

The episode is mainly focused on the dynamic between Kohina, Kokkuri, and the Inugami. We see the trio engage in various activities together, such as playing board games, going to the park, and even cooking together. While the Inugami initially causes chaos and destruction wherever it goes, it starts to warm up to Kohina and Kokkuri and becomes more manageable.

As the day comes to an end, Kokkuri and the Inugami face off in a game of tag, which results in the Inugami getting injured. Worried about its well-being, Kohina takes it to a vet and tends to its injuries herself. In a heartwarming moment, the Inugami opens up to Kohina and reveals that it has been lonely for a long time. Kohina promises to be its friend and keep it company, and the Inugami agrees to return to its home in the spirit world.

The episode ends on a positive note as Kokkuri manages to break the bond between Kohina and the Inugami, and they bid each other farewell. The episode is a good example of the show's light-hearted and comedic tone, with just the right amount of heartwarming moments. It also introduces a new character to the series, the Inugami, who adds an interesting dynamic to the supernatural world that Kohina inhabits.
