DoxBox is a Syrian based documentary film festival launched in 2008. Establised by the Syrian production company, Proaction Film, the mission of the festival is to to make people aware of documentaries and spark their interest in them. In 2009, for the first DoxBox festival, 12000 admissions were reached.

Throughout the year, DoxBox shows over 40 international documentary films from all over the world to their Syrian audience, as well as regional documentaries. Some of the documentary films that have been shown throughout the years include: "The Eye Above The Well" by Johan van der Keuken, "The Beloves" by Viktor Kossakovsky, "The 3 Rooms of Melancholia" by Pirjo Honkasalo, and most recently, "The Mother" by Antoine Cattin.

Each year, the festival always includes special guests. Over the years, these guests have included many of the documentary film makers like Patrico Guzman, Chris Hegedus, Nicolas Philibert, Malek Bensmail, Niels Pagh Anderson and many others.

During the festival, there are five main screenings. The official selection is where films from around the world compete to win Syria's first audience award, the Damascus Audience Award. Two sidebar selections are shown, and then there is the fourth section, the 'Meet the Master' section. During this time, documentaries of masters in the documentary art are shown when the filmakers are present. Finally, four documentaries that most surprised the industry most recently are showed.

DoxBox works closely with the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam as well as the European Documentary Network, DocPoint Helsinki, and the Copenhagen International Documentary Festival.
