This German based company has specialized in the production of entertainment options for children across a series of media, including audio plays and cartoons. Kiddinx was founded in 1976 as Kiosk, a producer of audio plays that were distributed via audio cassette and on the radio in Germany. The company remains active in the audio market as the official licensee of tales and characters from The Walt Disney Company and for many popular characters in Germany and across Europe. The company became known as Kiddinx in 2000 when the company combined its efforts with a popular board games manufacturer and distributor.
In terms of cartoons and animated series the company looks to its popular characters inside Germany for the majority of its productions. Bibi Blocksberg is one of the most famous characters of Kiddinx, with the witch taking part in a series of adventures with her friends Marita and Moni. Another well known character under the Kiddinx banner is Benjamin the Elephant, who has transitioned from a radio based character to one of the most popular animated shows in Germany. The elephant Benjamin has a best friend Otto who he spends time with in the city of New Town where they enjoy adventures and meet the many local people of the area. Alongside these popular German characters, Kiddinx is also responsible for distributing the German language versions of popular Disney channel shows, including Hannah Montana.
