In 2011, BloodyDisgusting.com, the number one fan-based horror website on the Internet teamed with The Collective, a Beverly Hills based management company, and AMC Theaters, the largest theater chain in the United States, to form Bloody Disgusting Selects. Their aim was to bring independent horror films to movie screens all over the United States. In addition they sought to distribute these same indie horror films to Video on Demand, better known as VOD, for access worldwide. Blood Disgusting Selects hand picks indie films that are often overlooked by the mainstream to increase exposure. Only those deemed worthy of a wider audience are chosen by Blood Disgusting Selects.
Originally formed in 2002, BloodyDisgusting.com covers horror films and provides news and reviews. The site has over one and a half million unique visitors and over 20 million page views per month. Their online community is built on members called “The Infected,” and site staffers who share a love of horror films and all things frightening.
Full length releases from Bloody Disgusting Selects can also be viewed on Hulu and has a YouTube channel that airs theatrical trailers of their films. Bloody Disgusting Selects releases are also available for viewing on Netflix and Amazon Video On Demand.
