Founded by Miles Beckett and Greg Goodfried, creators of Lonelygirl15, EQAL is an influencer network built around celebrities, consumer brands and intellectual properties. Shortly after its formation, EQAL began working in conjunction with CBS to produce original programming and online tie-ins that included the Harper's Globe companion show for Harper's Island.
Similar programing produce by EQAL includes KateModern, associated with Bebo and LG15 and The Resistance. The channel has also worked with Anthony E. Zuiker, originator of the television series CSI, to create an online companion for Zuiker's novel, Level 26. The collaboration with Zuiker, beginning in 2009, was the first in a series of similar partnerships.
In addition to producing series with various partners, this next generation media network is also responsible for Get Cookin' for Food Network host Paula Deen and The Kind Life With Alicia Silverstone that covers global warming and vegetarian topics. EQAL is also responsible for U Look Haute, a fashion and beauty series that features tips, interviews, stories and reviews from celebrities, experts and everyday women. Shows include shows include ReNailz, dedicated to nail styles and trends, and a weekly round-up of beauty and style entitled The Haute List.
Celebrities featured in EQAL productions include Chelsea Kane, Nick Cannon, Bethenny Frankel, Elizabeth Banks, Stan Lee, Tori Spelling, Lauren Conrad, Sugar Ray Leonard, Bella Thorne, Derek Hough and Michelle Phan, among others.
