Watch TV Shows on Kakifly, Houbunsha / Sakura High Band

Kakifly is the author and illustrator of the manga K-On. The manga became such a hit that Kyoto Animation adapted it into an anime. K-On, or Keion, is about four Japanese school girls. Yui Hirasawa, Mio Akiyama, Ritsu Tainaka, and Tsumugi Kotobuki. The anime gained wide popularity that led to a 26-episode second season.

In Japan, Kakifly is pronounced as Kakifurai. Born in Kyoto, Kakifly also collects different kinds of guitars. He is also known to be left-handed. Kakifly associated himself with Mio Akiyama, one of the main characters on K-On. Mio is also left-handed like him. K-On is Kakifly's first known work. However, people do not know much about him.

The anime starts with Yui Hirasawa beginning her first year in high school. She has to join in a school organization and she is finding it hard to choose which one is perfect for her. Yui then learns about the Keion Club. The club will disband because there are not enough members. The current members of the club Mio, Ritsu, and Tsumugi, recruit Yui though she is not musically-inclined at all. Later, Asuza then joins the Keion Club. From then on, they start their fun music adventure. In the Japanese language, Keion means light. The members have named their club that way because they want to bring light or inspiration to their listeners with their music.

The different thing about K-On when compared to other anime shown on TV is that it does not have the usual plot that includes romance and action. The story hardly develops. The main characters all have slack attitudes; the exact opposite of most anime shows. Despite all of that, the anime gained fame because of its atmosphere and songs. K-On has proven that there can be success even if an anime has a simple plot and does not have superheroes included in its characters.
