Stingray is a television channel that isn't really like any other one around. It was founded in Montreal in 2007. While it's essentially a music channel, Stingray is quite a bit different from most other music channels.
Consumers who receive Stingray might notice that it's been split into several different channels. The Karaoke Channel supplies karaoke programming to dedicated music terminals as well as individuals who receive the channel. While individual consumers are more than welcome to sing along in the privacy of their own homes, the channel is largely geared toward large venues.
Stingray 360 provides many different styles of music to consumers, and the service makes sure to clear all copyright concerns when it comes time to broadcast it over their service. Stingray Music and Concert TV provide similar services, but are geared more toward individuals as opposed to large business environments.
Stingray's remaining channel, Music Choice International, is primarily available to European and African consumers. It provides pop, dance, rock, country, classical and jazz music to viewers. The service will occasionally broadcast an entire concert for the benefit of its viewers. MCI is notable for its wide variety of international offerings.
Everything from traditional German folk music to hot pop songs from India has a place on the channel. Some consumers will find that MCI is split into numerous sub-channels on their cable boxes. This is to help make it easier for users to find music that they want to listen to.
