Founded in 1947 by Gyula Trebitsch and Walter Koppel, today Studio Hamburg is by far the largest and most prolific film and television production company in all of Germany. It is so large that it is headquartered in four primary locations: Hamburg, Berlin, Luneburg, and Cologne. The company commonly delves into every aspect of the film and television industry in both public and private broadcasting: production, distribution, consulting, and a many other related services. All of this works to produce some of the most popular and award-winning shows and movies in Germany.
They do everything on TV from police procedural dramas to nature documentaries. Some of these shows are some of the most recognizable in the country. Shows like “Tatort,” “The Love Boat,” and “Soko Wismar.” Also very recognizable is the children’s show, “The Peppercorns.” Listing the types of films they produce is not necessary. They produce nearly every kind of film imaginable.
Besides a whole host of producers, the company employees an army of people in various areas of expertise who work together to put out these refined television and film works. The leaders of the company have also partnered with other production companies to churn out the best material possible.
