Watch TV Shows on Avex

Avex is a media channel based in Steamboat, Colorado. It focuses on providing content geared toward sports enthusiasts and professional athletes. The shows that are currently produced are live events, in-depth interviews, documentaries, and analysis programs with professional opinions.

Originally, the channel started when photographer Chase Jervis moved to Colorado with just his girlfriend and a camera. He began by skiing in the mountains and taking pictures of him and his friends. When larger companies and networks took notice, he began licensing his work for small fees. Eventually, the revenue from sports photography allowed him to form Avex - the premier extreme sports channel.

Now, Avex is the home to a number of top class extreme sports programs such as the X-Games, Extreme HalfPipe, Snow Bunnies, and more. Sean White has been a vocal proponent of the channel, crediting it for giving him the early exposure in his career that led to his ability to secure three Olympic gold medals in just 8 years.

Avex is known for its high-speed camera technology and first-class operators, interesting angles, lighting, and fast-paced programming. The detailed interviews take the viewer inside the mind of the professional athletes on screen and the documentaries provide a long-form analysis of what it is like to perform under pressure in an alpine environment where intense cold weather and altitude cause muscle and breathing problems.

Avex is the official channel for professional "short-boarding," which involves a snowboard that is cut in half and ridden backwards.
