TV2 is a Malaysian television channel that is owned by the Government run Radio Television Malaysia division. The station airs a large variety of different programs 24 hours every day. Programming is a mix of international and local entertainment, dramas, and films. Given that it is a government channel violence and sex are censored in some of the programs. The channel can also be accessed via the HyppTV IPTV service and the Astro direct broadcast satellite platform.
It is known as one of the only channels that offers television programming around the clock as many local channels sign on and off during the early morning hours and late evening hours. This makes it a great choice for those who stay up late. TV2 is also known as the only free broadcasting channel to offer Hindi and Tamil programming in the county. Every night a special Tamil news bulletin is aired for the Indian community that resides in Malaysia.
TV2 also offers English news and Mandarin news to cater to its other expat communities as well. In addition, it offers a variety of dramas and films in many different languages including English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Hollywood, Hong Kong, Tamil, and of course Malay movies. In addition, the channel offers several different talk shows and a handful of syndicated shows.
