Alli is a British comedy television channel based in London, England. The company was founded in 1992 by Rowan Atkinson and continues to provide quality entertainment in the form of television shows and movies. When it first started, it was only a video recording of famous Shakespearean plays performed by a small cast of amateur actors at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Through perseverance and numerous investments, the channel has grown to hire cast and crew that focus solely on its productions
The channel is accessible by computer, mobile phone, and tablets, as well as traditional cable programming.
The variety of shows of Alli has led to it winning numerous BAFTA awards, including for the groundbreaking comedy "Take Me With You."
"Take Me With You" features a young man - Conroy - who is madly in love with a beautiful maiden. Sent off for school, Daffny is unaware of Conroy's affections. Through a ridiculous scheme involving tricking the head schoolmaster, outrunning the police, and impersonating a horse-wrangler, Conroy gets his chance to meet the infamours Daffny. What ensues is utter hilarity.
Alli has announced that it will partner with multiple cable companies in the United States to expand its audience and bring original programming to a new demographic in an effort to provide more content via the internet, social media, and apps such as Netflix Mobile. The plan is set to take place in late 2015.
