Sprout is an American based digital cable and satellite television channel. The channel is owned and operated by NBC Universal and its subsidiaries. Sprout replaced PBS Kids for a few of the cable and satellite companies throughout the United States. The Network also offers a video on demand service that features a large variety of programming geared towards young children. Sprout acquired many of their shows from the Public Broadcasting Service most commonly known as PBS. The channel also offers many original programs that are shown exclusively on the Sprout channel.

There are many shows to choose from on the Sprout network. These programs are designed to engage your preschoolers as well as entertain them. Shows like Lazy Town and Super Sproutlet Show encourage your children to get up and move in a fun way. Engaging with these shows will give them more activity through the day and more motivation to keep moving and have fun. Earth to Luna is a program geared towards science and asking questions about observations your child makes throughout their day. The Sprout channel also offers classic PBS shows like Sesame Street, Thomas the Train, and Super WHY. These are great for building some of the necessary early learning skills such as counting, friendships, and the ABC’s. The Sprout network combines education and entertainment in all of their programs making them fun for the whole family. The network airs reruns and original programs 24 hours a day, so there is always something to learn and watch.
